Leon Airlines will begin operating from the Leon airport to Barcelona on the 1st of April. Last week EuropaPress published an article informing that the company has already signed an agreement to operate from the airfield in Leon and will feature a Saab 340 plane with a 35 passenger capacity that will link the capital of Leon to Barcelona daily. As of today, the airlines will be able to come to agreements with Palma airport over the use of the brand new “fast lane”. This will let some of the passengers go straight to the security controls. No need to queue. This system has been set up at the airlines’ request and will be handled by them too. They will decide if they want to use it and how much each passengers has to pay for it.  For their part, Aena will charge the airline 1.5 Euros per passenger. Ryanair to connect Castellon with Bristol and London Standard

This morning, in a press conference, Ryanair announced they will start selling tickets for flights to Castellón. ElMundo and LasProvincias have just informed that José Espartero – Ryanair’s Commercial director in Spain and Portugal – explained that the airline will connect Castellón with Bristol and London-Stansted as of September. In particular, they will start Castellón-London on September 15, to operate three times a week; Castellón-Bristol will begin on September 16 and will have 2 frequencies per week. At the International Tourism Fair (ITB), in addition to new information about the upcoming Ryanair base in Berlin, traffic expectation data for Gran Canaria was also revealed. According to ElPeriódicoDeCanarias José Miguel Bravo de Laguna, president of the local government, announced that the number of airline seats for the island will increase around 3% from the main airports in Germany during the summer season. Ryanair opens a base in Berlin and starts 6 Spanish destinations Standard

Yesterday, Ryanair announced they will have a new base in Berlin starting on October 27. From there, they will connect with six Spanish cities: Alicante, Barcelona, Madrid, Málaga, Palma and Valencia. The new base in Germany was presented during the International Tourism Fair ITB. Apart from these cities, Ryanair will also fly to Athens, Bari, Bologna, Bratislava, Brussels, Glasgow, Palermo, Riga, Rome and Venice from this new base. According the information published in Preferente, the airline announced they will operate 191 weekly flights. Last Friday, CCOO (Union Confederation of Workers Committee) called off the Swissport strike which had been scheduled for several days during the months of March and April. Expansion.com confirmed that the employees and the company reached a deal on the collective agreement. Until now, the conversations had been in a deadlock. Over 2,000 workers had been called to strike at the airports of Barcelona, Alicante, Almería, Málaga, Jerez, Fuerteventura and the cargo terminal of Madrid.
