Plus Ultra aiming to start operations in the first quarter of 2015 Standard

According to Heraldo.es, two pilots from Zaragoza, supported by investors in the same city, have set up an airline to operate schedule flights, both domestic and international, from Zaragoza airport. The start of operations would be in Easter. The target is to recover the connections with Rome and Alicante which Ryanair used to operate. Also, they would be thinking about Germany, although in this case they would fly to Munich instead. In order to cover these routes they would already have two aircrafts with over 140 seats. Last Friday we were expecting the first Gay Airlines flight in Lanzarote airport. However Canarias7, the same media from which we had learned about the new company informed that Gay airlines will not see the light of day. All trace of the company has now disappeared. There are at least three projects for airlines based in the Canary Islands. You may remember our post Summarizing the ongoing Spanish startups, published in October 2013. On Monday, Sep 1 Plus Ultra received in Madrid their Airbus A340-313X 9Ac-LG, serial number 212. This is the first aircraft officially incorporated to their fleet. However, the airline still lacks an Air Operator’s Certificate. This has been confirmed by Rony Nahon – commercial director for Plus Ultra – to Preferente.com. Nahon used to work for Air Madrid.
