Even though they do not have an AOC yet, they are expecting to get it granted by the Authorities of Cape Verde soon. ElMundo published the information yesterday: Binter Cabo Verde will have two planes to fly from the African archipelago. Talks with Aena are in an advanced stage for reaching an agreement that lets Air Europa build a new hangar at Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas airport. According to an article published by ElEconomista, the hangar will be built near Terminal 1, on land belonging to Aena. This was explained by Juan José Hidalgo (president of Air Europa) during a press conference on the presentation of their route Madrid-Miami, which will be operated with a Boeing 787 Dreamliner. This morning, in a press conference, Ryanair announced they will start selling tickets for flights to Castellón. ElMundo and LasProvincias have just informed that José Espartero – Ryanair’s Commercial director in Spain and Portugal – explained that the airline will connect Castellón with Bristol and London-Stansted as of September. In particular, they will start Castellón-London on September 15, to operate three times a week; Castellón-Bristol will begin on September 16 and will have 2 frequencies per week. Starting on October 26, Vueling bases their second Airbus 320 in Palma with which they have increased their offer by 67%. Volotea to open up to 5 bases in Spain Airlines

Volotea will open their first base in Spain in 2015. It will be in the north of Spain, either in Bilbao, Santander, Vigo or Asturias. They are planing to establish up to five bases among the Spanish airports. The next ones would be opened in the eastern region of the Iberian Peninsula, Andalusia, the Canary Islands and the Balearic Islands. Currently, Volotea‘s aircrafts spend the night at Venice, Palermo, Nantes or Bordeaux. Also Strasbourg is expected to be added to this list soon. The Málaga airport based airline Helitt Líneas Aéreas closes down after four years. According to Preferente.com, based on the information by ElMundo, José Pizarro – chairman – informed the employees through a letter that their contracts have been terminated. The company had a debt of 5 million Euros. The owner – The Pizarro family – also has about 20,000 parking places in Spain and Morocco. In August 2013, another piece by Preferente.com informed that the airline would no longer operate schedule services. Still, at that moment, they would continue to operate charter flights. Many Spanish media are announcing this week that Ryanair is exploring the terms and conditions to place a bid for Aena. According to Cincodías, in a piece published on Sep 3, Ryanair will make a decision within the forthcoming weeks. Ryanair’s marketing Director, Kenny Jacobs, assured they keep interested.
