The Airports Council International awarded San Javier airport a prize as the best European airport with fewer than 2 million passengers per year. Airlines reach an agreement with AENA to withdraw appeal Charges

According to lainformacion, the Airlines Association (ALA) has reached an agreement with AENA to withdraw the administrative appeal submitted before the Courts due to airport fee increases.This announcement comes after the agreement reached in May on maximum airport fees for the next five years between Aena and the airline associations involved in the consultation process.This agreement, has been signed by ALA’s President Mr. Pablo Olmeda and AENA’s General Director, Mr. Javier Marín.According to Mr. Olmeda, this agreement, together with the one reached in May, is opening a way of cooperation and understanding between the airlines and AENA that will be beneficial for the…

Handling discounts: The Aena’s General Director, Javier Marín, in a meeting with an information media group (Unidad Editorial), confirmed they are working on the procedures to award the handling services to 43 airports of the net. Among the conditions required by Aena, he explained there will be additional handling discounts to airlines operating new routes.The public tender should be opened sometime between July and December 2013.The airports of Madrid, Barcelona, Málaga, Alicante and Palma will have three Handling companies.
