During the last meeting of the Andalusia Autonomous Community Coordination  Committee on July 25 they agreed to boost Málaga airport as International hub. CadenaSer informed last Sunday that Aena has been requested to keep this proposal in mind within the marketing plan to open new routes and continue to increase traffic and investments for Málaga airport. The idea is that Aena suggests Málaga airport for a home base to the international airlines they may meet with. During the Airport Coordination Committee that has been established in Madrid they agreed to request to the Ministry of Fomento that the Terminals 1, 2 and 3 are dedicated to low cost airlines. This would let Aena apply an aggressive fee policy which might help gain traffic for the airport.In November Madrid had 2.9 million passengers, 5.3% less than November 2012. The first Airport Coordination Committee has been established in the Madrid Autonomous Region, but each Region is expected to go creating its own committee within the forthcoming months.These Airport coordination committees intend to offer a way of participation in the airport management to the public authorities.
